JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - The Jackson Police Department is now investigating a homicide in the 200 block of Rebel Woods Drive Saturday evening.

According to JPD Chief RaShall Brackney, at approximately 5 p.m., 911 received a call regarding a male who was shot.

When JPD arrived on the scene, officers spoke with a witness who had made the call and was performing life-saving aid for the victim.

The victim, who has not been identified at this time, was described as a 32-year-old Black male.

Brackney said JPD is pulling all of its cameras in the Rebel Woods area in order to follow all possible leads.

Currently, no suspects have been identified. However, Brackney added, JPD is searching for at least two Black males in connection with this shooting.

No one heard any shots fired at the scene and so it is unknown if the original shooting scene was inside one of the apartment units and the victim went outside injured or if the shooting occurred outside.

This is an active and ongoing investigation.

If anyone has any additional information related to this case, they are asked to contact the Jackson Police Department at (601) 960-1800 or Crime Stoppers at (601) 355-TIPS (8477).
