‘It’s kind of a big dill’: Mississippi Pickle Fest returns, attracts families and pickle lovers from across the state
JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - The Mississippi Pickle Fest is back for another year of countless vendors and pickle enthusiasts. If you didn’t know already, it’s kind of a big dill!
The annual Mississippi Pickle Fest drew in pickle lovers from across the Magnolia State — bringing together all kinds of pickle foods, merchandise and live music.
Coming off a record-breaking 2025 with 7,200 tickets sold, organizers say this year is even bigger.
“We have more vendors than we did last year,” said Jana Dear, Mississippi Pickle Fest Event Coordinator. “Our vendors have increased their spaces because they needed more space to sell their wearables and goods. And we’ve also added pickle eating contests for the youth division and we’ve added a pickle costume contest.”
Local baker Tashanna Griffith was among the vendors — bringing pickled cookies and pickled pineapple to the fest. For Griffith, the best part of the event goes beyond the food.
“So I like seeing all the new people. I like the costumes. I love the enthusiasm of all the different people that come out. And it’s just a sense of community and it’s something different going on in the area,” Griffith said.
For many, the Mississippi Pickle Fest is about more than pickles; it’s a chance to bring the community together, whether you’re coming out with family or friends.
This was Tylesha David’s third year at the event.
“It just brings a lot of people together. You get to experience different things, with Jackson just being so busy,” David shared. “I think that people just being able to take time and have family time and be able to fellowship and listen to good music and good food. So, I think bringing that to the Jackson area really is very important.”
You still have time to come out to the Mississippi Pickle Fest and check out all it has to offer. Sunday will be the last day of the fest, with open hours lasting from noon to 5 p.m.
Organizers said they look forward to continued growth next year.
