Man, father charged in accidental shooting death of 4-year-old

GERMANTOWN, Tenn. (WMC) - A man and his son have been indicted on charges stemming from the death of a four-year-old in Germantown in 2022.

The shooting happened at a home on South Germantown Road on June 22, 2022.

Police say the child accidentally shot and killed himself.

Nearly two years later, Jerry Anderson Sr. and Jerry Anderson Jr. are charged in relation to the child’s death.

Both have been released on an $80,000 bond.

Germantown police say the case is now under the purview of the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office.
