State employees get a few extra days off, but not by choice.

Many showed up to the Woolfolk state office building to work Tuesday morning, only to see a sign. The building, which houses a thousand employees, is without power because of a mechanical failure, meaning the workers would be without some of the essentials to do their jobs. The Department of Finance and Administration says people needing services from an agency in the Woolfolk Building should call the agency before coming. DFA director "Hoopy" Stringer said, "Hopefully, the agency will have on voice mail instructions on what they should do and how they should go about contacting the agency."

A list of agencies in the Woolfolk Building include, the Governor's office, M.D.A., D.F.A.., the Insurance Department, Banking and Consumer Finance, Public Service Commission, L.B.O.., Peer, the Audit department, and the Treasurer's office. No other buildings in state government were effected.
