Detroit Lions fan gets Super Bowl champion tattoo: ‘It’s happening’
ALLEN PARK, Mich. (WWJ) - As the Detroit Lions gear up for Sunday’s NFC Championship game against the San Francisco 49ers, one fan is showing off unwavering confidence in his favorite team.
Lions fan Alex Chepeska has made his Super Bowl prediction permanent with a tattoo, saying that the team will be NFL champions this year.
“I’ve never been so sure of anything in my life,” Chepeska said.
The Lions fan says he got the tattoo last August, before the team’s 12-5 winning season.
“I got this a week before the first preseason game. I knew they were doing it, it’s happening,” he said. “There’s a few haters out there, but mostly everyone has been positive.”
As you can imagine, Chepeska has been gaining more and more praise for his prediction as the Lions have kept their winning streak going.
“The longer it goes, the more people are getting on board,” he said.
Lions’ linebacker Alex Anzaone says all the support from fans has been unbelievable and this is no exception.
“I mean a tattoo is a huge commitment. Obviously, you get it removed, but ... it’s awesome,” Anzaone said. “You can cement your name in history here and our opportunity is right in front of us.”
Chepeska says it feels like destiny.
“It’s our turn, it’s been the most exciting time I’ve ever had being a Lions fan,” he said.
The winner of the 49ers-Lions game will be heading to Super Bowl 58 in Las Vegas set for Feb. 11.
