Michael Burton, a Jackson, Mississippi-born National Jazz Artist, is returning to Jackson along with three distinguished musicians for a benefit concert at the Belhaven College of Performing Arts Complex on Riverside Drive.
Sponsored by The Mississippi Jazz Foundation, a non-profit organization, the jazz concert is scheduled for Thursday Dec. 22, 2005, at 7 p.m.  Michael Burton, along witb his band will present a night of jazz to 800 attendees. Tickets are on sale at all BeBop locations in the Jackson area at a cost of $20 for adults and $10 for students 17 years of age and younger.
Some of the proceeds from the concert will be donated to Jackson Public School's APAC (Academic and Performing Arts Complex) program and Jackson State University.

HISTORY OF MICHAEL BURTON

Michael is a product of Murrah/Power Academic and Performing Arts Center and received a Masters of Arts from Indiana University.  He has performed with many notable artists such as: Alyson Williams, Marcus Johnson, Freddie Jackson, Mike Phillips, Victor Goines and Mississippi Mass Choir.  He has performed on BET JAZZ with several famous artists and toured with Universoul Circus. Michael is currently touring with Tyler Perry as a saxophonist.
