Hundreds of people celebrate opening of new Byram Walmart

BYRAM, MS (Mississippi News Now) - The Walmart Supercenter in Byram opened Wednesday morning. Hundreds of people packed the store for the grand opening celebration.
"I wanted to see what the new store looked like," said customer Jamie White.
Byram resident Arnold Stanton says the new store is a huge convenience for anyone living in the area.
"I don't have to travel nowhere," said Stanton. "I'm five minutes from here."
The 185,000 square foot store is located on Handley Blvd. off Siwell Rd. and Terry Rd.
The retail store employs about 300 people.
"This is a great day for business people in Byram, Mississippi," said Mayor Richard White.
