Three men arrested in connection to August murder
SIMPSON COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - Three men were arrested for a murder that occurred in August.
44-year-old Flynt Lee's body was discovered floating in the Strong River.
The Simpson County poultry farmer's burned out and bullet riddled pick-up truck was found a few miles away from his body down a ravine.
Nearly four months later, Simpson and Rankin County investigators have arrested three Mendenhall men: 36-year-old Bryce Mills, 32-year-old Rodrick Gilbert and 25-year-old Christopher Hubbard.
All are charged with capital murder, burglary of a vehicle and grand larceny.
Mills is also charged with possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
"We had new information that come through some tips through Rankin County and it led us to these guys and thank God we found out what it was," said Simpson County Sheriff Kenneth Lewis.
Sheriff Lewis says the murder appears to have stemmed from a botched robbery attempt.
All three suspects will have an initial hearing before a Simpson County Justice Court Judge Wednesday morning.
