“I Am Proof Fitness Day” in Hazlehurst honors the memory of Navy veteran Granterio L. Short. He did at age 36 in a car crash. He served overseas in the Navy during his military career. Once he came home, he dedicated himself to helping others get fit in his hometown of Hazlehurst. On July 27th, the “I Am Proof Fitness Day,” has a 5K and family event in his honor.
