Sharonne Hayes

Sharonne Hayes is a Multimedia Journalist/Reporter who joined the WBTV Morning Show team in January 2019.

Born and raised in Birmingham, AL, she graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) with degrees in Psychology and Journalism. Sharonne developed her love for news, storytelling and community involvement while interning at WBTV’s sister station, WBRC.

She got her start in news as an Assignment Desk Editor before accepting a position at WBRC as a news content specialist. There, she primarily worked behind the scenes filming, editing and putting together content until she took a position at WACH in Columbia as an MMJ/Reporter in December 2016.

Sharonne has covered everything from crime and severe weather to community action and human-interest stories. Now on WBTV’s Morning Team, she’ll join you LIVE each day to help you get your day going with everything you need to know about the Queen City and surrounding areas.

When Sharonne is not being a ‘newsie’, she enjoys videogaming, hiking, reading, catching up on live local music, volunteering and getting in as much time with her family as possible.
