Rachel Coulter joined the First Alert Weather Team as a Meteorologist, after three years at KAIT, Raycom’s station in Jonesboro, AR.

Rachel was born in Wisconsin and lived there ten years before moving to North Carolina, where her family still resides. She knew she wanted to become a Meteorologist at an early age after learning about thunderstorms from her grandfather. After starting a storm chasing club at the age of seven, her passion for the science only grew.

In 2015, Rachel graduated with a B.S. Degree in Meteorology from Millersville University, where she also played on the women's basketball team for a few years.

Even though Rachel started off wanting to go into research, a couple of amazing internships at WRAL and WGAL and a student-run show, Weather Watch, revealed a love for forecasting and communicating the weather to others.

Her first job at KAIT led to experience covering historic flooding and multiple tornadoes that has only increased her desire to study and forecast severe weather. Rachel is excited to work in Mississippi and learn from the amazing team of Meteorologists at WLBT and Fox40!
