Mike Sands serves at evening news anchor and Sports Director for WLBT and Fox40 News.

Prior to that, Mike was a sports anchor and reporter at WLBT and Fox 40 beginning in March 2014. One of his first big assignments was following Ole Miss all the way to Omaha.

Mike is a native of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania and a graduate of Temple University in Philadelphia.

Mike moved to the Mississippi Delta, serving as Sports Director and news anchor at WABG.

Mike has developed a true appreciation and understanding of what Mississippians want in their news and sportscasts in his years working in the Magnolia State, and asks only one thing in return: if you see him walking passed your tailgate, ignore all rules you learned as a child at the zoo and please do feed him.
