Amber Gerard

Amber Gerard has been a Reporter/MMJ at WLBT since February, 2018. Previously she was a photographer at WKRG in Mobile, Alabama. While there she won the 2016 AP Award for 2nd Best Photographer in the state of Alabama. Amber grew up in Washington, DC. As a child she performed at the The Kennedy Center and Shakespeare Theatre. In High School she was a member of Model UN and spent two summers at Space Camp, at Kennedy Space Center in Orlando. After graduating from The Edmund Burke school in Washington, DC., she spent one year at Catholic University before transferring to Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. She earned a BFA in Musical Theater. During her freshman of college she played Juliet at the Royal Shakespeare Theater in Strafford Upon Avon, England. After graduating from college she moved to NY where she worked as an actress and model, appearing on Law and Order, As the World Turns, Blue Bloods, Chicago Fire and more. She has been in over 12 national commercials and print ads for MTV, FUJI FILM, Macy’s, Verizon, NASCAR, Milwaukee’s Best, Oprah Magazine and Shape. Amber says, when she decided to be a journalist she went back to school . In 2015 she earned a Master’s degree in International Affair with a concentration in Modern Middle East studies.
