Another day with no changes to the forecast...We are starting our Thursday with similar conditions to yesterday. Temperatures fell to the mid and upper 60s overnight, with a few low 70s in the mix too. Can’t rule out a little patchy fog forming in a few places before the sun comes up. The afternoon will bring more of the hot, dry weather we have gotten used to (but tired of). Highs will top out in the low to mid-90s.
We are getting out the door this morning with pleasant and dry conditions. The dryness will stick around through the afternoon, but temperatures will be well above average. Typical afternoon highs at this time of year would be in the mid-80s and we will top out in the low to mid-90s.
We are starting Tuesday off with patchy fog, primarily north and east of Jackson. Decreased visibility will linger through the mid-morning hours, so give yourself some extra time on your morning commute! There is another chance for a few showers and storms this afternoon, but most places will return to a drying trend. Temperature-wise we are getting out the door with lows in the upper 60s. We will warm to the upper 80s and low 90s this afternoon.
Rain is starting to creep its way into the area this morning, and will continue to do so as we go through the day today. A great start to the new work week and first week of fall! As we watch rainfall totals increase, expect the higher amounts to fall along and south of I-20. Up to 2 inches is possible in a few areas! High temperatures will only reach into the low and mid-80s this afternoon. We will cool to the mid and upper 60s overnight.
I think it’s safe to say we are all waiting for rain... and more of it is on the way!We are starting the end of the work week with temperatures warmer than average, and we will see that through the afternoon hours too. Highs will reach back into the low 90s today with a few passing clouds and maybe a stray shower or two (don’t worry, that isn’t all the rain expected!). Saturday will be mostly dry and sunny with a similar temperature trend.
Temps will be slightly above average as we head out the door this morning, and the afternoon will see warmer-than-normal highs too. Expect to top out in the low to mid-90s today with mostly dry and sunny conditions. Humidity values will be higher than the last couple of days, so a few sprinkles are possible for some. More of the same will be in store for us on Friday and Saturday, but changes are on the way on Sunday.
Not quite as cool out the door this morning, but seasonable and still pleasant. High temperatures this afternoon will make their way into the low 90s for most places. Cloud cover will likely increase a little today, and we may even see rain in a few spots! Look for those showers mostly in northwestern parts of the area, but some of the rain later into the evening could press as far east as Kosciusko.
We have an absolutely fantastic start to the day today with temperatures ranging from the upper 50s to the mid-60s heading out the door! A nice afternoon will follow suit, with highs in the upper 80s and low 90s.

Many of us are feeling the relief from yesterday’s cold front as we get out the door this morning. For the afternoon, expect to see somewhat cloudy conditions but cooler afternoon highs (in the low to mid-90s). A very slim chance for showers exists in our southern counties late tonight into early tomorrow morning.
One more HOT day today before nicer conditions arrive!Many of us saw a decent amount of rain last night, and there are even some puddles on the road this morning. Unfortunately, today will not bring us much more of that sweet precipitation. It will, however, bring us back into the mid and upper 90s. A slight breeze may help to ease the heat at times. About one-third of our southern counties are under heat advisories this afternoon.

At least early in the morning they will... Another quick warm-up is ahead for us going into the afternoon with highs projected to be in the mid and upper 90s.
Another hot day ahead of us on this Tuesday, but the mugginess won’t be as much of a factor. We will get out the door with temps in the low to mid 70s and warm to the mid and upper 90s this afternoon. A slim chance for more rain exists this afternoon, with about 20% coverage in our area.
A warm and muggy start to our Labor Day Holiday today, with lows only reaching the upper 70s for most places. The afternoon will bring a chance of showers and storms yet again, and highs will be slightly above average in the mid-90s. The chance for rain will linger through the late night hours tonight. Mugginess will bring “feels like” temperatures into the triple digits.
Another pleasant start to the day with temperatures in the upper 60s to low 70s. Dewpoints are extremely low early this morning, making it feel even better outside, but moisture (and even some light rain) is moving into the area and will continue to do so throughout the day. This will leave us will a good chance for showers and a few thunderstorms by the afternoon hours, especially in areas east of I-55. Highs today will top out in the upper 80s and low 90s.
Another day of fabulous weather awaits us on this Thursday! Getting out the door with lows in the mid and upper 60s, and it feels fantastic! If you were up before the sun, you also had a chance to view the “blue supermoon” that was full last night and early this morning. If you missed it, you can still see it tonight, close to its full glory. The afternoon hours today will bring more pleasant dew points, dry conditions, a slight breeze, and highs in the low 90s.
If you missed out on the nice weather yesterday, don’t worry! Another day of highs in the upper 80s/low 90s with a dry breeze awaits us. In fact, today may be even better with mostly clear skies and a cooler start. Rain, however, will be out of the picture today. The pattern stays like this tomorrow. The clear skies will allow for a great view of the “blue supermoon” which rises just after 7 Wednesday night and sets early Thursday morning.

These will continue through tomorrow, and possibly the weekend as the heat remains unrelenting.We will start the day again with new record high lows in a few areas, similar to yesterday. That just means we don’t cool off very much in the overnight hours. Getting out the door in the upper 70s and low 80s, and warming to as high as 105 degrees this afternoon.
Starting off this Wednesday morning feeling warm and sticky as you get out the door. Overnight lows stayed in the upper 70s for the most part. This afternoon will bring another day of record-breaking temps, with highs projected to be from 101-105.
The record-breaking heat wave continues on this Tuesday, and First Alert Weather Days are still in place through the end of the week.We tied the record high temperature yesterday at 103 degrees, and today we are expecting to tie or break the record high yet again. Temperatures will top out in the triple digits today and through the end of the week. With humidity factored in some spots will feel as hot as 112 degrees this afternoon. As high temperatures continue increasing this week, so will peak heat indices. We could see numbers as high as 120 degrees by Wednesday or Thursday afternoon with air temperatures surpassing 105 degrees.
It’s a First Alert Weather Week for us here in central MS, with record-breaking temperatures expected for multiple of the coming days.We are kickstarting Monday with temperatures in the mid and upper 70s. That isn’t too bad of a start! However, the warmup will be quick into the afternoon hours. Expect a return to the 90s by lunchtime and triple digits for peak highs. Heat advisories and excessive heat warnings are in place with the potential for heat indices up to 115 degrees. A very slim chance (but still a chance!) for a shower or two exists mostly in our southern counties today. Otherwise we will remain dry through this week.
Another pleasant start for us on this Friday morning with lows in the upper 60s for most. The afternoon will bring highs well above average (upper 90s and low 100s), but humidity remains relatively low, so it won’t feel as bad as what’s coming for us on the weekend.
The forecast remains on track for us to start heating back up again this afternoon. Starting off pleasant though with most people seeing 60s again out the door! Highs will range from the low to upper 90s with no rain expected.
A very pleasant morning for us in central MS behind yesterday’s cold front! Temperatures are still dropping and should reach the mid-60s for most before the sun makes its way up. This afternoon won’t be too bad either, with highs topping out in the upper 80s and low 90s across the area. One thing to keep in mind: although it isn’t quite as hot, wildfire danger persists and won’t be decreasing anytime soon.
While brief relief from the heat is settling in, wildfire danger persists across the area.This morning’s cold front will bring much-needed changes to our temperatures, but the rain we would typically hope to see along the frontal boundary will skip most of us. This will leave conditions abnormally dry for this time of year. Many counties are under burn bans, but even if you aren’t you should be wary of burning anything outdoors as gusty winds on top of the already excessive dryness will exacerbate the wildfire danger. Highs today will top out in the low 90s with mostly sunny skies sticking around.
More of that dangerous and annoying heat is in store for us today. Highs will top out in the low 100s again with a slight breeze and little to no rain expected. I have good news though - relief is on the way!

No rain on the radar as I write this, but can’t rule out the chance for some of those early morning showers that we’ve been seeing in our northern counties the past few days. The afternoon holds a slim chance of a passing storm too, but don’t get your hopes up! Most of us will be dry again with highs around 100 degrees. Excessive heat warnings remain in place for us today.
More excessive heat in store for us on this Thursday. Heat alerts have again been issued for all of our area, with heat indices expected to peak from 105-115 and little to no rain to cool us off.
The heat is back today, along with heat alerts area-wide.Your Wednesday will start off similar to yesterday temperature-wise. There will be a gradient of slightly cooler temps to the north (low 70s) to warmer in the south and west (near 80). As far as rain goes we are not expecting much, so it’s back to hot, steamy, and dry starting today. Highs will reach into the upper 90s for most places.
Finally, a break from the heat! At least for some of us...Areas north of I-20 should see highs in the upper 80s and low 90s this afternoon with a nice coverage of showers/storms early on and limited heat indices. A few storms could be strong to severe. Those south of I-20 will still experience highs in the mid and upper 90s with dangerously high heat index numbers.
Relief from the ~excessive~ heat is finally in sight! It won’t be here until next week, but at least there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

I hope you weren’t planning on wearing a jacket anytime soon, because things are only getting HOTTER! Today, highs will reach into the upper 90s with relatively low humidity remaining. Even so, many places will likely feel like 99-103 degrees this afternoon. Rain continues to elude us.

Highs will peak in the low to mid 90s (seasonable) and it will feel close to the air temperature as remnants of the dry air from the weekend continue to stick around.

Just two more days of severely hot and muggy before we finally return to normal hot and muggy! We can’t escape the humidity in July in MS, but we can escape the heat dome. That will finally move out as we tumble into the weekend and a cold front moves through.
