Mississippi Senate OKs lottery, House says no

The Mississippi House has killed a bill that would create a state lottery, voting 61-53 against it. But, the bill was held for the possibility of more debate. That means supporters could try to revive it.

A house bill to give Mississippi teachers a $4,250 pay raise over 4 years has cleared it's first hurdle. HB 504 passed the house 85-26 Wednesday afternoon.
