CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - The 22-year-old man who shot a pregnant woman in her stomach, killing her unborn baby girl, was found guilty Monday afternoon and sentenced to life in prison, with the possibility of parole after 26 years.

Arnell Johnson’s bench trial began March 29 in front of Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas Judge William McGinty.

Johnson was found guilty of one count of aggravated murder, two counts of murder, two counts of felonious assault, one count of attempted murder, one count of discharge of a firearm on or near prohibited property and one count of having weapons under disability.

Cleveland police said the 19-year-old mom was sitting in a car at East 110th Street and Crestwood Avenue just before 1 a.m. on July 30, 2020 when shots were fired at her from another car.

Johnson and Timothy Evans fired at least 21 rounds into her vehicle, police said.

Timothy Evans, 20, was found guilty in October 2021 of two counts of involuntary manslaughter, one count of discharge of a firearm on or near prohibited premises and one count of having weapons under disability.
