Unidentified victim, unknown age

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - An unidentified female victim of undetermined age died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022, after a shooting at a motel in the city, according to police.

Jackson Police Dept. spokesperson Sam Brown said it happened at approximately 7 a.m. at the Economy Inn on West Northside Drive.

Investigators say a man and woman had a domestic dispute inside a hotel room, which ended with the man shooting the woman several times.

Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham-Stewart said the woman had no identification on her, but they have submitted her fingerprints to the state crime lab in an attempt to identify her.

The man, whose name has not been released by police, was arrested and is now facing a murder charge.
