JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - Keyunta McWilliams, a 23-year-old woman, and her unborn child died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2021, after a shooting in a residential part of the city, according to the Hinds County coroner.

Jackson Police Dept. spokesperson Sam Brown said the woman, who was eight months pregnant, was shot multiple times on Beasley Road near Brownlee Drive that night.

Coroner Sharon Grisham-Stewart confirmed the woman’s identity.

Investigators identified four suspects in the shooting, including 17-year-old Joseph Brown, who were believed to have followed McWilliams from a nearby gas station in a silver BMW.

A few hours after the shooting, JPD and several agencies arrested Brown and four other individuals: Marzavier Harrington, Kenya Webster, Antonio Esco and Gary Taylor.

All have been charged with two counts of murder, two counts of aggravated assault, one count of drive-by shooting and one count of shooting into an occupied vehicle.
