JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - Heat and humidity will continue. Our chance for showers or thunderstorms tonight is slim to none with lows in the muggy middle70s. Saturday will start sunny and most of it will stay dry until the afternoon and evening with highs in the lower 90s. A weak disturbance will drop down from the north triggering some showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening. Not everyone will share in the rough weather, so check back in for updates. Some of the storms could be severe with wind, hail, lightning, and torrential rain. Quieter weather arrives Sunday through Wednesday with partly sunny skies and only a slight chance for showers. Highs in the lower 90s and overnight lows in the lower 70s. The middle to end of next week gets complicated with a cool front trying to move in from the north and a possible tropical system forming in the southern Gulf. Either one may have some impacts in our weather later next week. Average high this time of year is 89 and the average low is 69. Sunrise is 5:53am and the sunset is 8:08pm.
