JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - Anthony Tyrone Lindsey Jr., a 24-year-old man, died Thursday, June 3, 2021, after a shooting at an apartment complex, according to the Hinds County coroner.

Jackson Police Dept. spokesperson Sam Brown said it happened around 3:30 p.m. at Edgewood Terrace.

Investigators believe 22-year-old Jocquize Williams shot Lindsey, then left the scene in a white Dodge Challenger with his ex-girlfriend and her child inside.

Authorities located the one-year-old and his mother, Tamora Sims, in Holmes County.

Police have not released a motive in the case but believe Lindsey was Sims’ current boyfriend.

Williams remains at large.

His vehicle has a Mississippi tag that reads HLB 6391.
