5-year-old girl shot in neck by father, Franklin Co. sheriff says

FRANKLIN CO., Miss. (WLBT) - Deputies in Franklin County are investigating the shooting of a 5-year-old girl.
Sheriff Tom Tindle says the child’s father, Samuel Scott Jr. is charged with aggravated assault and felony child abuse.
The child was hit in the neck by a 9mm and taken to UMMC where she remains, the sheriff said.
Investigators said the girl is expected to be okay because the bullet missed her vocal cords and artery, but deputies have yet to say what led up to the shooting.
Scott’s bond hearing will be held Tuesday, April 27.
