State still struggling to vaccinate African Americans

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - Dr. Thomas Dobbs applauded leaders of local Historically Black Colleges and Universities on Twitter for taking the COVID-19 vaccination.

He highlighted the leaders, saying that just 15 percent of the vaccines given in Mississippi have been African American.

White Mississippians have received 74,601 of the vaccines. Black Mississippians have received 16,328 doses, figures show.
