Man found dead outside Jackson home

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - Jackson police are investigating the death of a man found outside a home on Monday morning.
The man was found unresponsive outside a home on Memphis Street just after 8 a.m.
Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham Stewart has identified the victim as 57-year-old Jessie Benfield.
Police said the victim appeared to have been assaulted.
Police have not released any information on a suspect or motive at this time.
