JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - Evangelist and frequent Trump defender Franklin Graham and is now asking the president to invite President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris to the White House.

In a recent post on Facebook, Graham thanked President Trump for his “conciliatory words to the nation” after he released a video on Twitter last week condemning the violence at the U.S. Capitol. In the video, Trump also said he is committed to a “smooth, orderly and seamless transition of power.”

Because of this, Graham has asked Trump to “quickly” invite Biden, Harris and their spouses to the White House for a meeting “to begin the healing and preparation for a smooth transition.”

“We are praying for you, Vice President Mike Pence, President-elect Biden, Vice President-elect Harris, and our other leaders in Washington,” he added.

In a later post, Graham also asked Biden to encourage Democrats to “back off” their calls for impeaching the president and to “focus on other needs in our nation.”

Graham has been an outspoken supporter of the president during his time in office, recently stating that history will remember Trump as “one of the great presidents of our nation.” He also opened the fourth night of the 2020 Republican Nation Convention in prayer.
