JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - Today’s high temperature of 41 degrees is well below the normal high of 56 this time of year. We started off at 38 degrees. Expect a mix of sun and clouds this weekend with highs in the 40s and lows in the upper 20s and lower 30s. A storm system will sweep into our area Sunday night and Monday. There will be periods of rain and snow across the area. Better chances for accumulation will take place north and west of Jackson. South and east of Jackson are looking at mainly rain or snow when it’s above freezing. The Jackson metro may get an inch or so, whereas 2-4 inches are possible north and west of Jackson. Temperatures will teeter around freezing much of the day and then warmer weather will kick in Tuesday and beyond. Basically, Monday’s weather depends on location, temperature and storm track. Sunrise is 7:02am and the sunset is 5:13pm.
