TAMPA, Fla. (WLBT) - The Ole Miss Rebels football team has landed in Tampa, Fla., a sign that they’re ready to play in the 2021 Outback Bowl.
The Rebels (4-5) are slated to take on the Indiana Hoosiers (6-1) in the bowl matchup.
A video of the team’s plane landing was posted on the Ole Miss Football Twitter account.
The news is welcome to Ole Miss and football fans alike.
Earlier this week, it was unclear whether that bowl game would go on because of injuries and COVID-19.
According to the Oxford Eagle, head coach Lane Kiffin said on Monday that some players were opting out of the game. Meanwhile, other players likely wouldn’t suit up because of injuries or virus concerns.
The game is slated to begin at 11:30 central time on January 2.
