JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - An alert day remains in effect tomorrow for severe weather. Some rain showing up already today, but no severe weather is expected overnight. A warm front will quickly move through our area Thursday afternoon or early evening with thunderstorms accompanying, that may produce damaging wind or tornadoes. A lull in activity will follow until a line of storms approaches closer to midnight that may also produce damaging wind or tornadoes. Thereafter, the system will weaken and move east. Our entire area is under the threat of severe weather. However, areas over southwest Mississippi have a higher risk of seeing tornadoes or wind damage. Stay weather aware, come up with a plan, and secure loose objects now and know where to go, in the event severe weather strikes. Cooler weather with just a few showers Friday and Saturday, with Sunday turning out to be a cool, but sunny day in the 50s.
