JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - An Alert Day is in effect for Thursday. Severe weather is possible, while today’s weather is just the opposite. Today’s high reached 70 degrees as it was a fairly nice sunny day. We can expect a little fog tonight and it will be a little warmer than the past couple of nights with lows by morning in the lower 50s. Tomorrow will be partly to mostly cloudy with highs in the lower 70s and maybe just a few showers. Thursday will turn stormy. Severe weather is possible in the afternoon, evening and into the overnight hours. Highs will reach the lower 70s again and fall into the 50s at night. Severe weather may include tornadoes and wind damage. A few showers may linger Friday, but the weather will gradually improve with temperatures near normal for this time of year. Temperatures will be in the 50s and Saturday will look very similar, but with a tad more sunshine. Sunday looks to be the better day of the weekend for now with plenty of sunshine and high sin the upper 50s. The average high this time of year is 56 and the average low is 36.
