Miskelly Season of Giving Campaign: Jackson man’s generosity leads to another blessing for a family
JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - A Jackson man’s generosity led to an extra blessing for a Jackson family.
Precision Home Improvement employee Christopher Simmons was recently called out to a home to complete an estimate on floor repairs.
When he arrived, he saw that the family needed much more than new flooring; they didn’t have enough furniture for everyone to sleep and sit comfortably.
He nominated the homeowner, Ms. Shirley Woodson, for Miskelly’s Season of Giving Campaign.
Monday morning, Miskelly donated furniture to help get Ms. Woodson and her family off on the right foot in their new home.
“Everybody has to understand the reason for the season and it’s Jesus,” Simmons said. “He’s love, God is love. I just feel good and excited for her and her family.”
Ms. Woodson said her family has had to do quite a bit of adjusting this year, she experienced some financial difficulties and lost nearly everything, and some of her other family members have had to move in with her due to unemployment during the pandemic.
Woodson is also a caretaker for her disabled sister who requires in-home care.
“In the time that we are living in now, it’s hard for people to really recognize that other people do need help,” Woodson said. “It’s not just them anymore, it’s everybody and we all have to step up and help each other.”
