First Alert Forecast: active conditions continue this weekend

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - It’s a dreary and gloomy start to the weekend. Clouds will stick around for much of the day. It could be misty from time to time along with the possibility for a few showers, but we will get a break from the heavy rain and storms today. Temperatures will climb to near 64 by this afternoon. Showers will move into the area overnight and into early tomorrow morning as a low-pressure system tracks in bringing a cold front along with it. A few storms that develop during the late morning and early afternoon hours could be on the stronger side and produce damaging wind gusts. The rain will likely clear by Sunday evening and into the overnight hours. Colder and drier air will move in behind the front.

Next week will be less active compare to this past week, but it will feel more like winter. Monday will be quite windy with highs in the 40′s, but with the wind factored in it will feel more like the 30′s. Overnight lows a couple of nights will likely be in the 20′s. So, get your jackets and coast ready for next week! Rain will move back into the region by Thursday and will likely exit by Friday.
