JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - Oscar-winning director Michael Moore is saying President Trump could be on the path to victory once again despite what the polls say.
While appearing on The Hill’s Rising, Moore began by stating that it is “awful news” that Joe Biden is ahead by 7 points in Moore’s home state of Michigan.
According to RealClearPolitics, Biden currently has a 6.5 point lead over President Trump in Michigan. Trump won the state in 2016 by fewer than 12,000 votes.
“I have to fight against this constantly,” the Bowling for Columbine director stated before citing a June poll which showed Biden ahead in Michigan by 16 points. “Trump has cut that in half."
He then said that Trump has tightened the polls in many swing states, adding, “don’t believe these polls, first of all, and second of all the Trump vote is always being undercounted.”
Moore said that the battle for the state is “desperately close” and that he does not know what will happen come Election Day. Moore, who is a Democrat, famously predicted a Trump victory in 2016.
“Anybody who thinks they know what’s going on doesn’t really,” Moore admitted. “And so I can say that, from what I know in Michigan, it’s not as wide of a lead as the polls have said that it is and we should treat is with serious caution...”
Election Day is Tuesday, November 3.
