JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - All seven of Jackson Public School high schools will host a voter registration challenge on Friday, September 25, and Monday, September 28.
Both events will be held from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. The events are sponsored by the Mississippi Black Women’s Roundtable.
JPS says the schools will form teams to conduct drive-through voter registration drives. Prizes range from $5,000 for first place to $1,000 for third place.
The district says it encouraged schools to alert their students who are 18 years of age to come by and get registered to vote.
