JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - The number of presumed positive coronavirus cases in Mississippi is now at 16,020.

The Mississippi Department of Health confirmed 302 new cases and 15 new deaths on Wednesday. So far, 782 people have died from COVID-19 in Mississippi.

The amount of tests done in the state totals 192,362 as of June 2. This includes MSDH Public Health Laboratory tests and other providers.

There’s also 1,993 reported cases in long-term care facilities in the state.

An estimated 11,203 people have recovered from the virus.

On March 19, the first in-state death from the virus was reported of a man from Hancock County.
