JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - Steve Hutton, the executive director of the Mississippi Fair Commision, was arrested for promoting prostitution the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation confirmed Wednesday.

Hutton, 54, was booked into the Madison County Detention Center on Wednesday afternoon by MBI agents and the Madison Police Department.

Hutton has been in that position since 2018.

The Mississippi Fair Commission says Hutton has been terminated.

“Today, the Mississippi Fair Commission voted to terminate the employment of executive director Steve Hutton. The Fair Commission has an experienced staff in place to continue operations at the Fairgrounds. The construction of the new Trade Mart and the installation of new Coliseum seats both continue, as does the partnership with UMMC and the Mississippi Department of Health to provide a convenient and safe location for a COVID-19 testing facility.”
