Boy saves up spare change, adopts puppy

BROOKHAVEN, Miss. (WLBT) - Some spare change helped bring a young boy together with a puppy.

Tyler, 8, has been saving up change in his piggy bank because he wanted a puppy.

Once he had enough saved up, he went with his mom to Brookhaven Animal Rescue League's Adoption Center to pick out a new pal.

Tyler handed over a shoebox full of rolled coins in exchange for a puppy.

Tyler named his new friend Copper in honor of the pennies he’d saved up.
