Man found in trash can behind Jackson home died of gunshot wounds, coroner says

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - A body was found behind a vacant home in Jackson inside a trash can.

The victim has been identified as 44-year-old Bernard Williams.

According to Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham-Stewart, Williams died of multiple gunshot wounds.

Police say the trash receptacle was sitting in a wooded area. The receptacle with its contents have been transported to the Forensics Lab for processing.

According to Jackson police, the body was discovered just before 8:00 a.m. in the 800 block of W. McDowell Rd.
