JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - Hinds County Supervisors on Wednesday approved $896,980 to upgrade security doors at the Raymond Detention Center.
Supervisors said kicking the can down the road “can no longer happen when addressing the ongoing problems at the facility.”
Within the next week or two, the process will begin to replace 73 doors at the facility.
The plan is to pay for the improvements by using money allocated for other projects to fix the detention center.
The improvements are to being done to bring them into compliance consent decree with the U.S. Department of Justice.
