JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - People living in Flowood voted Tuesday on a special use tax. It’s a 3 percent tax on hotel and motel stays, which would only affect people who visit the City and use the accommodations.

According to City Clerk Josh Carlisle, there were 103 votes for and two votes against the sales tax.

The revenues will go toward the new conference center opening next summer in Flowood.
