PEARL, Miss. (WLBT) - Pearl Public Works has been repairing a major water line break at the CVS.
Water was turned off to a large area, mainly along the south side of Highway 80.
City spokesman Greg Flynn says crews remained on the scene late Thursday morning, digging down to try to find the ruptured line. He says a contractor laying fiber cable hit a valve to the water main, causing a major leak under CVS. All businesses affected were notified on Wednesday, according to Flynn. He added that the break affected businesses from the CVS down to about the Rose’s.
As far as residences, Flynn says if they got a hang tag, they’re affected. If they didn’t get a hang tag, they’re okay. However, some households have been reporting low water pressure.
A boil water advisory will be in effect after line is repaired, and City officials are hopeful the repair will be complete by Thursday afternoon.
