LAMAR COUNTY, Miss. (WDAM) - The spillways in Lake Serene in Lamar County have closed due to flooding, according to the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office.

“Due to high water and public safety, the spillways in Lake Serene have been closed,” the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post.

The sheriff’s office said they will monitor the spillways throughout the night, and travelers in the area should plan to use alternates routes.
