VICKSBURG, Miss. (WLBT) - A man and his girlfriend have been arrested and charged in a drive-by shooting in Vicksburg.

Vicksburg Police responded to a home on Second North Street on Wednesday afternoon.

Five people, mostly children, were inside the home. No one was injured in the shooting, but witnesses told police that someone in a red Chevrolet Impala fired several shots and left the area. Police later found a car matching the description in First East Street around 4:17 p.m.

After police questioned witnesses in the area they arrested 29-year-old Antwan Demond Jacobs of Jackson and his girlfriend 22-year-old Xavier Anne Earl of Vicksburg, in connection with the shooting at Earl’s home.

Jacobs was charged with drive-by shooting, shooting into an occupied dwelling and three counts of attempted aggravated assault. Earl was charged with drive-by shooting.

Jacobs and Earl will appear in the Vicksburg Municipal Court on Friday July 12, around 10:00 a.m. to face charges. Both were transported to the Madison County Detention Center.
