JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - Jackson police are investigating a deadly wreck on I-20 near the State Street exit in Jackson early Friday morning.

The deceased victim has been identified by Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham-Stewart as 53-year-old Pamela Moss of Joesboro, Georgia. The coroner said the victim died of blunt force trauma.

According to JPD, three cars were involved and the crash happened just before 2:00 a.m.

A second person was transported to the hospital with moderate injuries.

After investigating, officers learned that the actual wreck happened when a small car collided with the bridge barrier and was stopped in a lane of traffic. The occupants of a second car stopped to help this driver. A third car approached and collided with those two vehicles.

Both of the people who stopped to help were injured.

The 52-year-old injured woman is currently listed in critical but stable condition.

No charges have been filed and this investigation is ongoing.
