300 customers still without gas after late night gas line explosion

Atmos has been on scene since the accident and hope to relight customers by Wednesday afternooon.

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - A wreck caused a gas line explosion in Jackson Tuesday night in the area around Clinton Boulevard and Flag Chapel Road.

According to Atmos Energy, about 300 customers are currently affected and without gas services as crews continue to make repairs. The gas was shut down at around 3:30 am Wednesday so repairs to the regulator station could be made.

Atmos has been on scene since the accident and hope to relight customers by Wednesday afternooon.

Late Tuesday night, the gas line exploded after the crash in which a car hit a regulator station that had several gas lines coming into it. One vehicle was seen engulfed in flames at the scene and one person was seen being transported to the hospital.

According to Fire Chief Cleotha Sanders, the man was not seriously injured.
