JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - Camp Hope in Jackson needs volunteers as they gear up for their annual summer camp session in June.
The eight week program is hosted by We Will Go Ministries. The non-profit organization, located in the historic Farish Street District, has helped the needy in the downtown Jackson community for years. Camp Hope is one of their many community outreach ministries. The summer camp offers a number of faith based activities including Bible classes, sports and field trips. They need volunteers, specifically local churches, to help make the camp a success.
“We're getting to see more and more the lasting effects of when kids and volunteers come and be a part of what Jesus is doing here at Camp Hope,” said Mariah Pitre, Pastor of Camp Hope.
The camp dates are June 3, 2019 – August 2, 2019.
Camp Hope is open weekdays from 8 AM-5 PM at the Fountain on Farish. During the afternoons (from 3-5) they offer for other members of the community to join in on ministry time, even if they are not enrolled in Camp Hope.
Camp Hope will be open to all children currently enrolled in school (5-11 years). The campers will be divided into two age groups (5-8) and (9-11).
