TSurface high pressure continues to slowly drift eastward, increasing our heat and moisture as we get into the second half of the work week! Although we could see a very stray shower or two heading into the afternoon and early evening hours, we'll mainly just be hot... Temperatures are expected to lift into the upper 80s today, and near 90° by tomorrow.
We'll be stuck in between a ridge of high pressure to our east and a potent trough to our west into the weekend... because of this surge of moist air from the SW, our mugginess and storm chances will begin to increase. Isolated chances are expected on Saturday, but a wave of scattered showers and storms will move through Sunday-Monday. The severe threat does look to remain confined to our NW, but we'll watch any storms that pulse up quickly.
Another chance for scattered showers and storms arrives Wednesday before a strong ridge looks to settle in by the end of next week... A very summer-like pattern appears likely heading into the latter part of the 7-day forecast for this reason!
