RIDGELAND, MS (WLBT) - The Natchez Trace Parkway will close sections of the Chisha Foka Multi-Use Trail near Ridgeland, MS for approximately three weeks for repairs starting May 14, 2019. The 1.5 mile closure between Greenwood Springs and Patterson Crossing will allow National Park Service staff to repair trail surface cracks that have developed as a result of expansion and contraction of the underlying soil layers.

The trail requires regular paving and repair work to maintain optimal conditions for visitor use.

The trail closure will begin at approximately 7:30 am and be reopened at approximately 3:30 pm daily. All access to the closed section of trail is prohibited during this time.

The trail sections from Choctaw Agency (milepost 100.6) north to the Reservoir Overlook (milepost 105.6) will remain open during the repair period.
