JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Jackson police are investigating a shooting that happened on Robinson Road Tuesday afternoon.
According to Sgt. Roderick Holmes it happened at 2:30 p.m. in the 3100 block of Robinson Rd.
Officers were initially called about shots fired in this area on Robinson Rd.
Shortly after this call, officers responded to a local hospital for an injured man who came to the hospital in a private vehicle. The car that drove him to the hospital also appeared to have bullet holes in it.
After investigating, police learned that individuals in two separate vehicles were firing shots into the apartment complex on Robinson Road.
Police say that the incident may have began before they got into their cars and robbery was possibly the motive for the shooting.
The 30-year-old man that arrived at the hospital had been shot multiple times, however, his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
Officers detained a man at the apartment complex who was later transported to the police station for questioning. He was identified as 22-year-old Troy Allen-Miller and was later charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault.
Allen-Miller remains in custody and is waiting for his initial court appearance.
