WARREN COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - A manhunt in Warren County ended Monday after a day of searching for two ‘armed and dangerous’ suspects.
17-year-old Justin Tilley and 22-year-old Zachary Brooks were wanted after slamming into a deputy’s patrol car then taking off on foot Sunday.
They appeared in court on Tuesday and according to Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace, are now being charged with felony eluding, assault on a law enforcement officer, felony receiving stolen property and two counts of auto burglary, when they broken into two vehicles and stole a hand gun from one vehicle.
Both men had previous warrants and were wanted.
The two suspects were found Monday afternoon around 1:30 p.m. in linen drawers inside a trailer at the Magnolia RV Park off Miller Street in Vicksburg.
Four people are also being charged with rendering criminal assistance to Tilley and Brooks. Glenn Johnson and Victoria Daniels are charged with harboring and Destiny Brand is charged with providing transportation for the two suspects. Billie McGuffie was also charged.
Johnson, Daniel and Brand each have a bond amount of $70,000 per person.
The manhunt began around 5:30 p.m. Sunday when deputies encountered a gold Buick Century at the corner of Halls Ferry Road and Fisher Ferry Road.
During a chase for the car, officers say, the Buick intentionally slammed into a deputy’s patrol car.
The Buick was heavily damaged but the suspects kept going. The suspects then got out of the car and ran away.
Deputies had over a dozen deputies and canine units searching the area around Timberlane Place. An auto burglary was also reported in this area where a small caliber handgun is missing.
Sheriff Pace said more arrests are pending.
