BROOKHAVEN, MS (WLBT) - A silo holding a fine powdered product at M&M Milling exploded around 8:30 Thursday morning.
According to Lincoln Co. EMA Director Clifford Galey, no one was hurt and crews from EMA, Brookhaven Police Department, and the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality are still on scene working to determine the cause of the explosion.
The plant has been evacuated except for the essential personnel needed to help assist.
The Brookhaven Police Department used their drone to help assist emergency officials after the explosion.
The fire department command staff were able to see the a view of the silo to ensure safe access was permissible for the firefighters on scene.
The FLIR camera was used to show areas of the silo that were still emitting heat.
