Whole Foods now delivering in the Jackson area through Amazon Prime Now
Company says your groceries can be delivered in less than an hour, in some cases
JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Jackson is among 13 cities where Amazon is launching same-day grocery delivery from Whole Foods Market. The service is already established in 75 other markets in the U.S.
The Jackson store at Highland Village is the only Whole Foods Market in Mississippi. All the products delivered locally will come from that store.
If you’re an Amazon Prime member, you can initiate the process at www.PrimeNow.com or through the Amazon Prime Now app. Once you’ve entered your Amazon login information, you enter your ZIP code to determine if you’re within the service area. Based on the ZIP codes we entered, it appears the service extends as far north as Madison, as far south as Byram, as far west as Clinton and as far east as Pearl.
According to a news release from Amazon, delivery is available in three tiers -- within two hours, one hour, or less than an hour. Two-hour delivery is free on orders of $35 or more; delivery within an hour costs $7.99. Not all speed levels will be available in all parts of the service area. Delivery will be offered daily between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.
Amazon’s purchase of Whole Foods was completed in the summer of 2017. Since then, it has launched a number of initiatives to take advantage of the two entities’ association with one another, including discounts on some Whole Foods products for Prime members. An Amazon Prime membership is currently $12.99 per month or $119 per year.
